When I woke up this morning, I discovered that my pump (water in the pipes) had frozen due to the low temperature we had last night. It was only 10°F outside when I got up to take a shower. After a few minutes, the shower was no longer working.
This happened to me one other time. I figured it was so cold that the water the pump that’s trying to supply to the house had frozen. It didn’t look like it was going to get above freezing today, so I wasn’t sure how I was going to thaw the pipes.
I should have taken precautions after my last experience, but I didn’t. 🙁 Luckily, there are people who’re smarter about these things than I am. I bought something called heat tape (electric heating cable) and came home to wrap it around the affected pipes. Within a half hour I had water again!
Today I’m grateful for water and for heat tape.
Ah, yes, the simple things – lost and restored – does lead to gratitude.
Thanks for leaving the 1st comment for this blog. 🙂 I’m grateful for that!
